If you are good at taking on other people’s problems and responsibilities, then you are not managing effectively. Check out this book from Ken Blanchard: The One Minute Manager Meets the Monkey https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0007116985/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_hLT8FbJW923K5
It will change your life and leadership style.

Let’s start as we mean to go on…

A funny and insightful read.
Having to read it a second time.
The main story is in comic strip format, with the psycobable as a narrative underneath.
I can apply this to my coaching and mentoring relationships.
You have been warned.
Yesterday saw the Senedd /Welsh Government publish its report on Degree Apprenticeships.
“The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) argued for a leadership and management apprenticeship for example, stating that it would have a strong impact on productivity in Wales” (p.18)
This has been the message we have been sharing since the introduction of the apprenticeship framework.
We welcome the Recommendation 4: “Welsh Government, through the Wales Advisory Apprenticeship Board, should consider broadening the range of degree apprenticeships available, including by supporting, funding and enabling the development of degree apprenticeship frameworks that are not delivered using public funding, where there is an appetite from employers for this.”
We hope, like other professional bodies in Wales, that this will also provide for a level 7 (and above) framework and open up the Wales market for senior leaders so we can have parity with England’s apprenticeship framework. #levellingup
This is a great time for change. Stay safe and stay well.
